Through the Countryside

Today's drive through the countryside was a contrast to yesterday's. Between Playa Giron and Cienfuegos agriculture was more evident. Orchards, rice, greenhouses, mangoes.

We saw several small towns along the way. They seemed to have no mechanization. No wires. Horses drawing carts instead of trucks. A taxi that was a horse drawn wagon with about a dozen people in it. Our bus had to follow a horse from one end of a town as it ran on the road to the other end. 

Amazing to be so far back in time!
