Yellowstone in Winter, Morning of Day 5

Tuesday morning was as clear and sunny as Monday's had been snowy and windy. We decided to try the long loop around the whole Old Faithful Geyser Basin. We saw Old Faithful erupt again. We watched the Castle Geyser erupt for about 15 minutes. The mud pots and steaming pools were brightly colorful outlined in snow. A coyote came toward us on the trail and ran off when we startled it by being startled by it.

Steam over the river.

Along came a coyote. He was a lot closer than it looks :)
Along the path.
This is the path that was snow-blown on Monday so Pam and James decided against walking this way until it was easier to be sure where to step.
Another path the blowing snow could easily make hard to follow.
These views are worth dressing warmly and getting out despite the cold.
