Hiking in Wanakena

There were new trails to try almost every day.

High Rock Trail
Just after the first photo, we unexpectedly came to a long stretch, as far as the eye could see, of flooded trail. Not really wanting to hike with wet shoes, we opted to return another day with waterproof hiking boots. So we signed back out and moved on to Janacks Landing Trail.

 Janacks Landing Trail
Much drier. We hiked 4 or 5 miles roundtrip.
left over from the big blow down of 95

Peavine Swamp Trail
The mosquitoes drove us out after about 3 miles, but we got in a round trip of more than 6 including walking to it from our camp.

Moore Trail along the Oswegatchie River
Not the longest, by far, but the toughest because of walking along the edge of the river over roots and rocks for 4 miles round trip. We were exhausted for a whole day after this one.
