Reunion, Visiting in Mansfield, and Second Wind on the Way of Saint James

Our last day in Star Lake was cool, windy, and sunny . . . perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and the Reunion party. Russ and Don left me in their wake as they paddled off in their tandem canoe. But I didn't mind taking the scenic, slow route along the shores.

Why is it that our summer reunions in the Adirondacks are so special? Al must put Star Lake magic in the sign-up mailings, or something. Maybe I need to re-read Russ' memoir about the town in the Fifties and Sixties. We never fail to laugh and talk and share a great weekend at this once-a-year party.
This year, we left the morning after Reunion and headed to Mansfield to visit Donna and Larry. And, guess who came too . . . Pam and James! They drove his hot rod truck up from Stafford to have dinner with all of us and visit the places she remembered from living there until she was 9. She took him to Pickle Hill, Corey Creek Apartments, the college, the elementary school, the Super Duper, Dunkin Donuts, and all the memorable spots.
The next morning, after they had to go back to VA, we took a long walk on the hike/bike trail and had a busy afternoon or sitting around and talking on the porch. What could be better?
The big news since we have been back in Florida is that we added Second Wind to our inventory, and have been selling them quickly . . . especially signed copies. If you'd like one, email us (gem@lighthallbooks.com) and we'll get one in the mail to you, for yourself or someone you know who has walked the Camino or plans to. You can send us a check.

While we were hiking and writing, the forest invaded our back yard. Russ is going to try to beat it back with pruning shears. Hmmmm..... We may need a backhoe.
