Nature Walk at the Refuge today

The weather is lovely today. We joined the Friends of the Lower Suwannee and Cedar Key NWRs for a Nature Walk led by Donna Thalacker. Having a leader who is skilled in identifying birds, plants . . .  and today . . . snakes, makes for a great walk.

At this pond, we heard a sora rail and a barred owl. We saw yellow-bellied turtles, common moorhen, yellowthroat, blossoming willows and wild rice, swallow-tailed kites, and grebes.
