Hiking the Moore Trail

We went hiking on Monday morning. we staged Kit's car at Inlet and drove to Wanakena where we met up with Pam and James. The 5 of us hiked along the Oswegatchie River, back to Inlet. It is only two miles, but they are somehow a very long two miles that really wear out your legs. Lots of roots and rocks, sometimes right on the edge and very narrow, with grass to keep you from seeing just where the edge is. Blessings on the folks who built the board walks over the muckier spots.

Kit got 3 caches, one under the iconic Wanakena footbridge and two along the trail. There was a third, but it would have required swimming over to an island across rushing river water and rocks. We guilted her into skipping it so none of us would have to rescue her. Then after she left, we all guessed she'd come back later with a buddy who wasn't so chicken :)

Afternoon and evening were lake-time. Perfect weather. Lots of fun.
