Walks in Star Lake and Wanakena, Kayaking, Fireplace Time
The weekend was pleasant and relaxing. We walked around the lake in Star Lake and went to Wanakena to walk out the ranger School Road and a bit of the Peavine Swamp Trail. We had shade in Wanakena and lovely views of the swamp and the Oswegatchie River. I kayaked out to the sand bar yesterday in the hot sun and then came back to our shaded terrace in front of our camp to let Stela swim and work off some energy. The evenings were cool enough for a fire in the fireplace, but not too cool for sleeping out of the sleeping porch. Perfect Adirondack weather.
