Kit Arrives - Poker Run

Part of what makes vacations be vacations may be that you spend the whole day just doing the maintenance items you have down to a routine at home. Thus, Saturday morning, we unpacked, found places for our clothes and food, went shopping, washed clothes by hand and hung them on the clothes line that we strung ourselves. It was all quite enjoyable.

We walked over to see Pam and James' camp and say hi to everyone. Everyone is: Pam and James, James' "kids" and spouses - Tanya and Erik, James and Kristen, Amanda (Will couldn't come), all the grandkids -- Nathan, Hailey, Ryan, Anna, Mackenzie, Emily, and Caroline.

After Kit arrived from Cedar Key, by way of Vermont, we joined the Poker Run. It costs $5 to enter. You get a card with 5 houses on the lake that you must visit by raft or kayak to have your card signed. Then you return to the sandbar and draw a hand of cards.

Kit and I did the Run by kayak with Erik and Ryan. None of us won, but Amanda, one in our extended group, won $80. Anna had drawn the hand for Amanda, so Anna got a 10% finders fee. Nice aunt, that Amanda!
