Tupper Lake Brewery Tour with the Star Lake Protective Association

Stela went to stay with the Smiths in Cranberry Lake Friday afternoon while we became tag people. When Meg tended bar in New Orleans, all the conference goers and tour participants would show up at her bar with their name tags. "Tag People" Friday, we were tag people. After dropping Stela off for an afternoon adventure with lots of other dogs and cats (one of the cats took a dislike to her and she never did seem to figure out why it was hissing at her, sweet thing),we boarded the Star Lake Protective Association bus for the brewery tour of Tupper Lake. Trout Lake also had a bus. We were an entourage in the North Country!

We went to Big Tupper Brewery, where I had gone with the whole Scruggs clan last week after our Wild Center rip. (Thanks again for lunch, Tanya) The brewery did a great job. They had asked for a count of more-or-less how many wanted to try a flight. When we arrived they had about 30 flights already poured. Class act!! The owner gave a welcome and history of the place. He walked around and played host, making sure everyone had appetizers and people to chat with. Outstanding hospitality!

Then we went to the Raquette Brewery. They have been expanding and built an enclosed pavillion. It is not completely finished, but will be spectacular. There was live music, food trucks, and outdoor seating with a fire pit. They hadn't pre-poured, so the lines were longer, but it was also a really nice experience.

I was worried that Stela would miss us.She hasn't been away from us for any length of time for almost a year. I need not have worried.

Today, Saturday was cool and cloudy. Taking advantage of the temperature, we walked the 4.5 miles around the lake. Russ worked on his project and I on one of mine. Tonight we had our first fire in the fireplace :)
Bus trip!
