Thursday in Lexington. Friday--VA, WV, PA, NY, Star Lake!

Thursday was a delightful day of rest from driving and travel.  We got up at a leisurely hour, had coffee on the porch and watched the clouds roll in and the rain approach and fall on the pasture. I found my way to the Lexington Urgent Care Center for help with the poison ivy I got when I slipped and fell on a rain-slicked lime rock road when I went to install a sign saying the road was closed due to flooding. So much for good deeds :) Prescriptions in hand in case I couldn't stand the itching, I went to get supplies for the good times in Star Lake -- cheese, olive oil, fermented butter (envy us, Mandy), balsamic , and olives. Meg and Steve came and made dinner at Lazy Acres again and we went to bed happy and ready for the long drive on Friday.

About 1:00 in the morning we awoke to find that we had no power. Hmmmm, not good when you are in the country in a cabin with a well. When the alarm rang at 5:00, still no power so we rolled over and went back to sleep. At 6:00 we had enough daylight to pack and were quick to hit the raod since we couldn't make coffee or shower without water. Ah . . . country life!

Traffic was really heavy all day. Stela was restless more than the first travel day. We texted back and forth with Pam and James, who had left Fredericksburg at 5:00 to beat the DC traffic, and the rest of the Scruggs crew. They are all staying at a bigger camp also on the Lake . . . 14 of them in all :)  All went pretty well and we arrived at our camp, The Stone House, in Star Lake about 5:30.

The only time all day when we did not have traffic!
Finally here!
